How Genium started
Genium began in 2025 when Ilya and Eric kept running into the same problem from opposite sides of the table. Local Hong Kong businesses — property managers, family offices, retailers — were stuck paying for SaaS that almost-but-didn't-fit their workflow, or hiring overseas dev shops that disappeared after delivery. There was no middle path: no team that would sit down, learn the business, and build something the client actually owned.
So we built that team. We started with one carpark, one property manager, and one family office — shipping production AI systems in weeks, not quarters, and handing over the source code every time. A year and twenty-plus projects later, the model still holds: custom over template, ownership over rental, and an honest answer when AI isn't the right tool for the job.
